We call ourselves Dorian Crafts but we are Edna and Hazel, a mother and daughter team who have been at Bourne Mill since the beginning of 2008. Dorian Crafts started life just over twenty years ago as a craft and gift retail business with a couple of quaint and quirky little shops. Day to day running of a high street shop is very time consuming and demanding and when Hazel's family arrived, priorities had to change! It was whilst Hazel and her husband were renovating and restoring their 14th Century cottage that a passion for all things old and vintage was born. It seemed only natural to diversify into those fine things that people may have given as gifts in years gone by! Dorian Crafts can be found in Room 3 and offers a vast array of different things. From small pieces of furniture, both painted and traditional, to china, glassware, silverware, collectibles, brassware, all sorts of things! There's jewellery and accessories, pictures, the odd teddy bear - you never know what you might find! There's antique items, retro, vintage and some handcrafted (many by ourselves). We are always busy behind the scenes, painting, polishing, knitting or sewing. What you might call a true cottage industry!! Below is a photo slideshow of our ware! |
